Set in rural area of Rajasthan, India. 'Balika Vadhu' traces the tough journey of child bride Anandi from the edge of childhood to womanhood. Anandi Married at the caring age of eight, Anandi had to accept and get to know her to new relations of unfamiliar persons and admit her roles as a wife, lover, friend and a daughter in law during early days itself. Now, as a young adult girl, she faces new disputes as she tries to slice out her own character in the world. 'Balika Vadhu' very sympathetically portrays the quandary of children who are without knowing forced into marriage, in the name of convention, and have to stand the ramification for the rest of their lives.
