Ashoka Maurya commonly known as Ashoka and also as Ashoka the Great was an Indian royal leader of the Maurya Dynasty who ruled approximately all of the Indian subcontinent. One of India's supreme emperors, Ashoka supremacy over a dominion that stretched from the Hindu Kush stacks in the west to Bengal in the East and sheltered the entire Indian subcontinent apart from parts of in attendance day Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The empire's capital was Pataliputra in Magadha, currently known as Bihar, with local capitals at Taxila and Ujjain. "Emperor of Emperors Ashoka" Ashoka is referred to as Samraat Chakravartin Ashoka. His name "Ashoka" means” without sorrow, Painless" in some meanings also "The Beloved of the Gods".
